Noelia Hernando Real

Noelia Hernando Real es profesora de Literatura Inglesa y Norteamericana en el Departamento de Filología Inglesa de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Noelia Hernando Real ha dado ponencias a nivel nacional e internacional, como en los congresos de la American Theatre and Drama Society, de la Society for the Study of American Women Writers y de la Spanish Association for American Studies. Ha sido miembro de varios proyectos de investigación, como “The Discourse and the Representation of Space as a Determining Factor, Transforming and Creating Body and Gender Identities, in Anglo-American and Canadian Literature and Theatre, from the End of the 20th Century to the Present” (FFYH 2009- 12221), “Refiguring the Body: Reinventions of Transnational Identities in Contemporary British, North American and Canadian Theatre and Fiction” (HUM 2004- 00515) (2004- 2007) y “Voices and Images of the New Millenium: Multiculturalism and Gender Representations in Contamporary Anglo-American and Canadian Literature” (PB98-0101) (1999- 2002), dirigidos por la Dra. Antonia Rodríguez Gago de la UAM. Actualmente, Noelia Hernando es miembro del proyecto de investigación “Espacios, género e identidad en la literatura y arte visuales norteamericanas: un enfoque transatlántico” subvencionado por el Instituto Franklin y dirigido por la Dra. Carmen Méndez de la UCM. Entre sus publicaciones recientes destacan Voces contra la mediocridad: la vanguardia teatral de los Provincetown Players, 1915-1922 (PUV, 2014), Self and Space in the Theater of Susan Glaspell (McFarland, 2011) y la coedición de Performing Gender Violence. Plays by Contemporary American Women Dramatists junto a Bárbara Ozieblo (Palgrave Macmillan, 2012). Noelia Hernando Real es vicepresidenta de la International Susan Glaspell Society.

Noelia Hernando Real is Assistant Professor of English and American Literature at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). She received her Ph. D. in British and North-American Literature from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, where she held a FPU grant for four years. Her research interests focus on contemporary North-American women playwrights. Noelia Hernando-Real has given paper at major national and international conferences, such as SSAWW and ATDS, on the works of contemporary American women playwrights. She’s participated in several Research Projects: “The Discourse and the Representation of Space as a Determining Factor, Transforming and Creating Body and Gender Identities, in Anglo-American and Canadian Literature and Theatre, from the End of the 20th Century to the Present” (FFYH 2009- 12221), “Asociación de Estudios Históricos sobre la Mujer” (HUM302, Junta de Andalucía), “Refiguring the Body: Reinventions of Transnational Identities in Contemporary British, North American and Canadian Theatre and Fiction” (HUM 2004- 00515) (2004- 2007), and “Voices and Images of the New Millenium: Multiculturalism and Gender Representations in Contemporary Anglo-American and Canadian Literature” (PB98-0101) (1999- 2002). Noelia Hernando-Real is Vice President of the Susan Glaspell Society.
