Elisa María Martínez Martínez has a PhD in Fine Art and a Five-year Degree in English Philology. Her primary field of research for many years has been film narrative, with a special interest in the work of Alfred Hitchcock. An important part of this research was carried out at the Margaret Herrick Library (AMPAS, Los Angeles, California), studying and working with an extensive amount of diverse material elaborated prior to filming, including original drawings by the Master of Suspense. Related to this subject matter, she has published articles and has presented papers in several congresses. These years of research have culminated in the book Hitchcock: Imágenes entre líneas, within the collection Biblioteca Javier Coy d’Estudis Nord-Americans (Universitat de València). Current pursuits include disentangling the fascinating interrelationships between words and images.
